organic eggnog

Wow your guests with our delicious, must have homemade organic eggnog that will be sure to dance on their tongues like the Nutcracker Ballet!

Who doesn’t love eggnog??!!  It’s the most wonderful drink of the year! Whether you like it spiked with a little rum or you enjoy the great taste of pure eggnog; you can’t deny that it wouldn’t be Christmas without homemade organic eggnog!

Skip the overly processed, conventionally-grown, store-bought eggnog and whip up a batch of our homemade organic eggnog.  Your guests will be wowed with the amazing taste that will dance on their tongues!

Organic eggnog is centuries old (way before the big companies took over), and since eggs and milk tended to be scarce and expensive in winter, the drink came to be associated with wealth, prosperity, and health.

The fat in organic grass-fed milk and the yolks of organic eggs from hens raised on pasture are loaded with healthful omega-3 fatty acids, the same fatty acids in fish that you may already be buying in supplement form.  Of course, if you’re not into organic raw dairy, you can certainly use organic milk or full-fat coconut milk (preferably homemade).

Some of the many health benefits of organic eggs include their ability to balance nutrient intake in the body, lower “bad” cholesterol levels, increase cognitive function, protect the heart, prevent eye disease, detoxify the body, prevent certain cancers, help you lose weight, and guarantee proper growth and development.

Organic eggs are so widely loved and used because they provide a powerhouse of nutrients inside their tiny package. There are enough nutrients in an egg to develop a single cell into a baby chick, and we need many of those same nutrients!

There are two essential parts of an organic egg; the albumen (the white part) and the yolk (the yellow part). The yolk is suspended in the albumin and contains about 80% of the calories and almost all the fats present in the egg. It contains many vitamins and minerals as well. The egg albumen mostly contains water and proteins.

Organic eggs contain significant levels of vitamin A, B-complex vitamins, vitamin D, vitamin E, and vitamin K, as well as phosphorous, selenium, calcium, and zinc. Furthermore, eggs also have various key organic compounds, such as omega-3s, antioxidants, and protein. (Organic Facts)
