homemade lotion bars

Give your skin some much-deserved love! This DIY lotion bar is not your average moisturizer! The warmth of your body melts organic emollients and oils into your skin to smooth, moisturize, and hydrate your elbows, hands, feet, and more!

Organic coconut oil, beeswax, and shea butter make up a rich and smooth consistency that nourishes your skin.

Organic unrefined coconut oil is famous throughout the world not only as an edible oil and hair tonic, but also as an excellent massage oil and smoothener for the skin. In the tropical parts of the world where coconuts are readily available and used in many ways, natives commonly spread coconut oil on their skin, as they believe that it protects from the sun’s harmful rays.

Coconut oil has a multitude of health benefits! Let’s talk about the benefits of coconut oil when used for skincare.

Saturated Fats: Predominantly, these saturated fats are medium chain fatty acids or triglycerides. When applied on the skin, they keep it smooth to the touch.

Capric /Caprylic/Lauric acid: These are not very different from the medium chain fatty acids, but it is still important to mention them separately here, since they have their own contributions. These three fatty acids have strong disinfectant and antimicrobial properties. As a result, when applied on the skin, coconut oil protects from microbial infections that can get into open wounds or even enter the body through the pores.

Vitamin-E: The contributions of vitamin-E towards skin care are well known. It is essential for healthy skin growth, repair of wear & tear on the skin, keeping skin smooth and protecting against cracking. Above all, it prevents premature aging and wrinkling of the skin, since it has good antioxidant properties.

Organic raw shea butter is an off-white fatty substance obtained from the nuts of the shea tree from West Africa, typically used in cosmetic and natural skin care products. Full of all-natural vitamin A, 100 percent pure, unrefined, raw shea butter aids in numerous skin conditions such as blemishes and wrinkles, stretch mark prevention during pregnancy, and dermatitis.

Indeed, because raw shea butter is extremely moisturizing and very hydrating, when applied to the skin, it provides immediate softness and smoothness.

Organic beeswax contains natural moisturizers that make it useful as a skin and lip balm — the substance locks in moisture and can help keep the skin firm and plump. In some cases, beeswax may be applied to minor burns or other skin damage in order to help the skin heal. According to the Bastyr Center for Natural Health, beeswax can also be mixed with other products, such as honey and olive oil, to produce lotions and balms that can serve as natural treatments against eczema and psoriasis.

DIY Lotion Bars

With all of our DIY recipes, we recommend only the very best organically grown essential oils; that is why we only use Young Living Essential Oils!

After much research, we chose Young Living. It is a company that has been around for over 20 years and produces the highest quality essential oils (above organic) that met our standards with the “Seed to Seal Process“. They own their own farms around the world  ~ we have visited and worked at one of them… amazing!!

Young Living uses organic farming methods to grow all of their plants. They weed by hand and use their own oils for pest control. The oils are distilled without chemicals ~ an AMAZING process. By using Young Living, we know that we are getting the purest oil in every bottle, not just a percentage of the oil and the rest is chemicals and additives (which is what you find on most shelves). Their essential oils are 100% pure, safe and highly effective.

DID YOU KNOW… in America, there just has to be 5% of of an essential oil in the bottle to be considered pure. The rest are synthetic materials. NOT with Young Living… you are just getting pure.

We have an incredible Bonus available to all of you that are ready to change your lifestyle with Young Living Essential Oils!

We hope that you will love our DIY Lotion Bars as much as we do!
