Good Afternoon Friends! We hope you are having a great Thursday! We are busy restocking our bathroom pantries with all of our favorite essential personal care products. We just made a fresh batch of homemade organic deodorant. Our recipe not only smells wonderful, it also really works!
When we took on our all organic lifestyle five years ago, we pitched all of the chemicals and chemically-laden products in the garbage. We have done countless hours of research on why people have become so sick with so many different kinds of diseases. Our conclusion: because a large portion of society relies on processed foods, genetically modified foods, and chemically filled products used in the home from cleaning products to personal care products.
Of course we purchase some organic personal care products, but for the most part, we enjoy making our own with our essential oils.
We wanted to share with you our recipe for our Homemade Organic Deodorant because it works and it is so cost effective!
Homemade Organic Thieves Deodorant
- 1/4 C Organic unrefined coconut oil
- 1/4 C Organic Arrowroot
- 1/4 C Organic Baking Soda
- 15-20 Drops Thieves Essential Oil
Method:
Melt the organic unrefined coconut oil by stirring constantly in your mixing bowl. Add organic arrowroot and organic baking soda until combined well. Finally, add 15-20 drops of Thieves essential oil. Mix thoroughly. Fill empty deodorant containers or fill 4 oz shallow jars. *Note: Depending on the temperature of your home, you may want to just keep the deodorant in a glass jar since coconut oil solidifies at warm temperatures.
You will only need a small amount for each armpit. If you are keeping the deodorant in a glass jar, scoop out about 1/8 teaspoon of deodorant and rub into each armpit.
We hope you enjoy this deodorant as much as we do! We recommend only using Young Living Essential Oils as they are the purest, highest grade of therapeutic essential oils on the market. You can order your essential oils here: www.youngliving.org/rodmariawagner
