Home Spa Day With Homemade Organic Coconut Oil Recipes
Good morning Friends! We hope you are having a wonderful Saturday morning! The sun is shining bright here, it makes the single digit winter temperatures easier to deal with!
We are so excited to talk to you about making your own organic facial skincare products. Face it, we all know that the beauty industry is a multimillion dollar business. Women and men of all ages are always looking for a newer, better beauty product to make them look younger. We admit, we have succumbed to the beauty industry as well.
Living an organic, biblical lifestyle for us, meant weeding out both chemical filled foods and personal care products. We often forget that our skin is the largest organ of our body. Many people tend to their internal organs using organic, non-GMO products while leaving the skin still absorbing chemicals.
After looking at the ingredients of our skincare products we had been buying, we knew we had to find and make an alternative product. Organic coconut oil is a favorite in our household. There are endless possibilities for using organic coconut oil. We use it for cooking, skincare, personal care products, a carrier oil for some of our essential oils, smoothies, you name it, we use it!
Today, we would like to share with you our recipes for Organic coconut oil facial moisturizer and eye make-up remover. Organic coconut oil makes your skin look and feel like a newborn baby!! Say good-bye to wrinkles as well with the help of Young Living Essential Oils!!
Coconut Oil Facial Moisturizer
Ingredients you will need:
- 3/4 Cup of Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 1/2 Cup of Organic Coconut Oil
- 1/2 Cup of Organic Beeswax Pastilles
- Approximately 15-20 drops of Essential Oil such as Lavender, Myrrh, Frankincense, Patchouli, or Sandalwood are a few of our favorites.
Combine the olive oil, beeswax, and organic coconut oil into a pint canning jar. Place the jar in a saucepan and fill the saucepan with water until it reaches about 3/4 of the way of the jar being careful not to get any water in the oil mixture. Heat over medium/low, stirring occasionally until the mixture has melted. Let the mixture cool to room temperature stirring occasionally with spoon. Once the mixture has cooled, add your essential oils.
Organic Coconut Oil Face and Eye Makeup Remover
Ingredients you will need:
- Organic coconut oil
This recipe is so easy and simple, all you have to do is place some coconut oil in a small jar and mix it until you have a soft consistency. Once your oil is softened up, place a cotton ball into the oil and gently rub around the eye area. The coconut oil will remove all face and eye makeup, even waterproof mascara. Simply wipe off the excess oil with a fresh tissue and rinse your face with water.
Organic Coconut Oil Deodorant
Ingredients you will need:
- 1/4 Cup Organic Corn starch (we like Rapunzel) or Arrowroot
- 1/4 Cup Baking soda
- 6 Tablespoons Organic Coconut Oil
- 15 Drops of Young Living Essential Oil such as Lavender, Bergamot, Patchouli, or Idaho Spruce Pine (great for men)
Mix all ingredients until smooth and creamy. Store deodorant in a glass or stainless steel jar.
This last homemade recipe does not have organic coconut oil in it, but we love to use it on spa day!
