organic banana pancakes

Good afternoon friends!  We hope you are having a wonderful Tuesday!  We’re enjoying the nice sunshine on this cold day!

Our daughters woke up this morning asking if we could please make their favorite organic sprouted banana pancakes.  Of course we said yes, since they are one of our favorite breakfast dishes as well!

We purchase our organic wheat berries in 50lb bags from Amazon.  We pay a great price on the Subscribe and Save option to receive 50lbs every couple of months!  We love to soak, sprout, and grind our own organic wheat berries!  Soaking and Sprouting your wheat berries allows for you to receive a ton of nutrients, where if you purchase organic processed wheat known as flour in the store, you lose the nutrients.

Here are some benefits you’ll get from sprouted grains:

  • Increased Digestibility – Sprouting breaks down starches in grains into simple sugars so your body can digest them easily.
  • Increased Absorption of Minerals – Sprouting breaks down enzyme inhibitors, so your body can more easily adsorb calcium, magnesium, iron, copper and zinc.
  • Increased Antioxidants – Sprouting releases more antioxidants that are naturally stored in the grains and seeds.
  • Increased Vitamin C – Sprouting produces vitamin C.
  • Increased Vitamin B – Sprouting increases the vitamin B2, B5 & B6

We use our own sprouted wheat berries in all of our recipes that call for wheat.  If you choose to use this method, you will notice that the wheat is a lot easier to digest and we think it tastes a lot better too!

Our organic banana pancakes have been a favorite in our home for quite some time.  These pancakes are not only delicious and packed with nutrients, they are light and fluffy as well!

Ingredients:

  • 2 C Organic Sprouted Freshly ground wheat

  • 1/2 tsp Pink Himalayan Salt
  • 1 TBSP Organic Raw Honey
  • 2 Organic Free Range Large Eggs, Slightly beaten

  • Making a hole in the middle of your flour mixture, pour in the milk, eggs, and honey.  Whisk together being careful not to over mix.
  • Fold the mashed bananas into the batter.
  • Preheat your griddle.  Ladle or pour (if your bowl has a spout) the pancake mixture onto your pan.
  • Cook until several bubbles appear on the top of the pancakes, then flip.  Cook until pancakes have become a light brown color.
  • Serve with warm Organic Maple Syrup.

As you can see, this recipe is quite easy and will be a family favorite of yours for years to come!
