Good morning friends, Happy Friday! We hope you are all having a terrific day!
It seems that all we’ve been reading and hearing about this week is everyone getting this horrible flu and being sick. We thought it would be perfect timing to help all of you stay clear of the ‘Winter Crud’ and help you get over it naturally!
It is so important to make sure you and your family are taking supplements to assist your immune system. We’re sure you have probably heard about keeping your ‘gut’ healthy. If not, let us explain why it is important to have a healthy gut. Your gut is your second brain, if your gut is not loaded with good bacteria, then your body will be weak in fighting off sickness. Our family uses the Garden of Life Organic Probiotics. For adults, we take Garden of Life Dr Formulated Organic Women’s Probiotic and Men’s Probiotic. For our daughters, we give them, Garden of Life Dr Formulated Organic Kid’s Probiotic. Our formula is in pill form that we take once daily. The kids probiotic is a chewable that they take once a day. We couldn’t believe the difference this probiotic had on our entire family’s health. It not only helps to keep us healthy, it also keeps our tummy’s feeling great!
Another great way that we support a healthy immune system is by using Raw Organic Vitamin D3. Did you know that vitamin D3 comes naturally from the sun? During summer months, people tend to be healthier because they are getting adequate amounts of D3 through the sun. It makes sense that during the months of October-April, people tend to be sick. In order to maintain a healthy immune system, everyone should be supplementing with Raw D3. Vitamin D is crucial for all systems in our body, vitamin D deficiency is culprit to a lot of autoimmune diseases, and every cell and tissue in your body has vitamin D receptors and therefore, needs vitamin D. Vitamin D is critical for heart health, respiratory, eye health, cell health, metabolism, immune system, sleeping patterns, and healthy bones and so much more. For adults, we use the KIND Organics Vegan D3 spray along with KIND Organics Plant Calcium that has raw D3 and K in it. For our daughters, we use the Yummi Bears Organic Multi-Vitamin.
Another way that we keep our family healthy and strong is by using essential oils! Essential oils have made a huge difference in our family’s well-being! We wouldn’t be without them! There are many essential oils that will assist in supporting your body’s well-being such as Thieves. Thieves® was created based on research about four thieves in France who covered themselves with cloves, rosemary, and other aromatics while robbing plague victims. This proprietary essential oil blend was university tested for its cleansing abilities. It is highly effective in supporting the immune system and good health.* Thieves is a powerhouse! Oregano is another essential oil that is a powerhouse in assisting your body’s well-being! Oregano (Origanum vulgare) is one of the most powerful and versatile essential oils. It contains strong immune-enhancing and antioxidant properties and supports the respiratory system.* Oregano may also be used to enhance the flavor of food. Oregano is also a key oil used in the Raindrop Technique, a massage application of essential oils, which is designed to bring about electrical alignment in the body. We of course incorporate a lot of other essential oils as well. Lemon, Lavender, Eucalyptus, RC, Peppermint, Frankincense, and Oregano are just to name a few that are important ‘Winter Crud’ essential oils!
Now, if you are battling the ‘Winter Crud’, let us give you some help in getting over it naturally.
If you have the flu, it is important to rehydrate yourself. We have a recipe for homemade pedialyte that will work for adults and children.

Lemon will help to soothe an irritated throat by rubbing a drop with a little bit of organic coconut oil on the outside of the throat.
